Comments
When visitors leave comments, we collect the data shown in the comment form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser User‑Agent string to help detect spam comments.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also known as a hash) may be sent to the Gravatar service to verify whether you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/ . After your comment is approved, your profile image will be displayed publicly alongside your comment.
Media
If you upload images to this website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors to the website may download and extract location information from images on this site.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site, you may opt‑in to save your name, email address and website address via Cookies. These are for your convenience so you do not have to re‑enter your details when submitting further comments. These Cookies will remain valid for one year.
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary Cookie to verify whether your browser accepts Cookies. This Cookie contains no personal data and will be discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set several Cookies to store your login information and your display preferences. Login Cookies persist for two days, and display‑option Cookies persist for one year. If you select “Remember me”, your login session will be retained for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login‑related Cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish a post, an additional Cookie will be saved in your browser. This Cookie contains no personal data and only records the ID of the post you have just edited. It expires after one day.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (such as videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from external websites behaves exactly the same as if you were visiting those websites directly.
These websites may collect data about you, use Cookies, embed additional third‑party tracking tools, and monitor your interactions with such embedded content — including tracking your interactions if you hold an account and are logged in to those websites.
Who we share your data with
If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included within the password‑reset email.
How long we retain your data
If you submit a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This allows us to recognize and automatically approve subsequent comments instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For registered users on this website, we store the personal information provided within their user profiles. All users may view, edit or delete their personal information at any time (except for their username, which cannot be modified). Site administrators can also view and edit this information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site or have previously submitted comments, you may request an export file of the personal data we hold about you, including all data you have provided to us. You may also request that we erase all of your personal data. This excludes data we are required to retain for administrative, legal or security purposes.
Where your data is sent
Visitor comments may be checked by an automated spam‑detection service.
